I’ve been considering the possibility of offering a short evening or afternoon workshop at some point this spring/summer geared towards teaching parents how to take better pictures of their children. Before I start to develop materials for this workshop I just wanted to check and see if there was enough interest; that’s why I’m blogging about it.
The requirements for the class would be a willingness to learn and just a regular point and shoot camera, you don’t need anything fancy. I’m not sure of what the cost would be at this point, it would really depend on the location and the number of people in the workshop, but I want to keep costs as low as possible for you. My goal is to keep it at $20/person or less if possible.
So, if you would be interested in participating in a workshop like this, send me a message and let me know. Also if there’s anything specific that you’d like to learn about feel free to send your questions and I’ll try to work them into the materials.
Send your thoughts and questions to photography@krystalpineo.com
Thanks guys, I’m looking foward to hearing from you!

It’s hard to believe that 2009 will be over in a matter of hours now, I always look back at the end of the year and wonder where the time went – it doesn’t seem fair that it goes by so quickly! I just want to thank all of my clients, friends and family for everything in 2009. I took a big leap leaving my regular job and started working at my photography full time at the end of September and everyone has been so supportive (especially my husband, thanks hun!). The bulk of my 2009 clients booked me this fall after I switched to full time photographer, and you guys made my first few months awesome! Thank you all so much, from the bottom of my heart. I enjoyed meeting every one of you and working with your families and I hope to see you all again in 2010.
I also want to take this opportunity to remind you all that submissions for Giving is Awesome are due by midnight tonight as I will be announcing the winner here tomorrow. I’ve gotten some truly touching stories from people who obviously love their friends and family so much! If you know someone who you would like to nominate the win $600 worth of custom photography, go here for all the details.
2010 is going to be my first full calendar year as a full time photographer, and I’ve got lots of cool stuff planned for you! There are lots of promotions, sales and special events planned throughout the year which I will be announcing here on the blog. At some point I hope to create a studio newsletter that will be sent out 3 or 4 times a year to let everyone know what’s going on and what the best deals are, but at this point it’s a matter of finding the time to do it! It’s on my 2010 resolution list.
Speaking of New Year’s Resolutions, how many years has it been since you’ve had a family picture taken? Not one of just the kids, but one that actually includes Mom and Dad too! Time flies by so fast that I’m offering $75 off family portrait sessions to anyone who books for the month of January and tells me that it’s their New Year’s resolution to have a family photo taken in 2010! Get started on that list early, and get this one scratched off first – I just made it easy for you!
Also in the next couple of weeks I will be announcing an awesome opportunity for Valley high school students as I launch a teen model search. You guys will have a chance to get some free pictures, earn a few dollars and maybe win a really cool prize at the end of the school year…. not to mention a chance to model and see your face on advertisements around the Valley! All of the details are coming soon, I’m just finishing up a new blogsite to promote everything before I post all the details. I can’t wait to share it with you though, Valley high schools have never seen anything like what I will be offering! This is BIG and I’m so excited!! (Bet you can’t tell?! lol)
I’m going to wrap this post up before I write you all a novel because I could keep writing forever (you should have seen my Christmas letter, it was 10 typed pages long!) All the best to you and your families, I hope 2010 is filled with good surprises and lots of love. And because I hate to make a post without a picture, here’s a little something that I hope makes you smile as much as I do when I see it!
